After a promising start under Rosenior, Chelsea’s form has completely fallen off a cliff.
In fact, since gameweek 26, the Blues are second bottom in the Premier League table after winning just one game. It is a damning stat that has been shared by journalist Ben Jacobs on X.
Chelsea have not been scoring, which is why they have dropped out of the top five and down the form table.
In their four losses to United, City, Everton and Newcastle, Chelsea failed to score a single goal. Against United, Pedro Neto managed to create some chances, but no one was clinical enough on the night.
Rosenior’s attack is not the only reason why Chelsea are struggling so much in the Premier League right now, though. Defensively, they have been just as bad, if not worse, and the stats show that.
Chelsea’s defensive record since Liam Rosenior took over
Under Rosenior, Chelsea have only managed to keep one clean sheet in 12 games in the top flight, and that came all the way back in January.
It came in a 2-0 win against Brentford, which was Rosenior’s first Premier League match in charge.
Across the 22 Chelsea games that Rosenior has managed, the Blues have also conceded 35 goals. These numbers are outrageous.
That is not to say everything is Rosenior’s fault. Chelsea clearly have issues in central defence and in goal, which the club refuse to address. But the defending supporters saw under Enzo Maresca was never this bad, or at least not over a run of so many fixtures. Something needs to change and quickly.
