United fans got on top of Alejandro Garnacho after he was brought on early for the injured Estevao Willian, and they were sent into delirium when Mason Mount entered the fray late on.
After having every touch booed during his cameo appearance, Mount had the last laugh as United left with all three points, and made sure to give some stick back to those in attendance at the same time.
Mount shushed the Chelsea fans late on, with their frustration stretching further than what they were seeing on the pitch.
Blues supporters had made their voices heard as early as 90 minutes before the game to protest the ownership, with reports stating as many as 500 fans were involved.
Previous efforts have fallen on deaf ears, however the poor run of form and perilous position the club find themselves in suggests this one may be taken more seriously.
