Chelsea winger Estêvão Willian has returned to Brazil to continue his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury at the facilities of his former club, Palmeiras. The 19-year-old has been sidelined since sustaining the injury on April 18 during Chelsea’s match against Manchester United.
According to reports from ESPN, the Brazilian international is utilizing the familiar environment in São Paulo to aid his recovery process as he works toward a return to action.
While training at Palmeiras, Estêvão remains under the direct supervision of Chelsea's medical staff. The Premier League club has dispatched a specialist to Brazil to monitor his progress, ensuring all rehabilitation protocols are strictly followed.
This recovery period is critical for Estêvão, who is aiming to regain full fitness for upcoming international commitments under coach Carlo Ancelotti. Before the injury, the winger had established himself as a key attacking option for the Seleção.
With Brazil scheduled to begin their tournament campaign on June 13, Estêvão is working against a tight deadline to be included in the final squad for the upcoming World Cup in North America. Brazil is placed in Group C alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti.
