Chelsea youngster Jesse Derry has provided a welcome update after being taken to hospital following a head collision during Monday’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.
The 18-year-old was making his first Premier League start in the 3-1 home defeat at Stamford Bridge, under interim boss Callum McFarlane.
The match was paused in the first half following an aerial challenge with Forest defender Zach Abbott, with medical staff providing swift treatment before Derry was taken off. Chelsea FC quickly confirmed that Derry was "conscious, talking and undergoing precautionary checks".
Derry later shared a personal message expressing his gratitude, calling the opportunity a "dream come true" and thanking the medical staff for their care.
