Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has expressed his delight at seeing the club make positive strides again, with the former winger eager to see the Blues return to the highest level of English football.
Hazard remains closely connected to Chelsea after his hugely successful spell at Stamford Bridge, where he became one of the club’s most influential players and helped deliver major trophies.
The Belgian is now encouraged by what he has seen from the current Chelsea project and believes supporters want to see the club competing at the top once again.
His comments come at a time when Chelsea are looking to build greater consistency under new head coach Xabi Alonso and develop a squad combining emerging young talent with experienced players.
The Blues have invested heavily in their squad in recent years, and the current campaign represents another opportunity for the club to establish itself among the leading sides in the Premier League.
For Hazard, seeing Chelsea challenge near the top would represent a welcome return to the level the club enjoyed during his time in west London.
The former Chelsea star's message will likely resonate with supporters who remember the club's successful era and are hoping to see another period of sustained success at Stamford Bridge.
