Sergio Agüero believes Chelsea’s attacking quality is not enough on its own, insisting the team must become more solid in midfield and defence to get the best out of its forwards.
The former Manchester City striker highlighted Chelsea’s attacking options, particularly Cole Palmer, João Pedro and Morgan Rogers, but stressed that even an excellent front three can struggle if the team lacks balance behind them.
Agüero pointed to some of Europe’s best sides as examples, noting that successful attacking teams have traditionally been supported by a strong structure capable of limiting the opposition and protecting leads.
His message is clear: Chelsea have the attacking talent to hurt opponents, but they need greater defensive stability and midfield control to turn that quality into consistent results.
For Agüero, scoring goals is only part of the equation. Chelsea must also develop the organisation and discipline required to hold onto advantages once they take the lead.
