Chelsea are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Barcelona defender Jules Koundé, with the Spanish club said to be open to considering offers for the French international.
Koundé is reportedly not viewed as an untouchable member of Barcelona’s squad, potentially opening the door for interested clubs to test the Catalan side’s resolve with a suitable offer.
Chelsea have allegedly begun assessing the financial requirements of a possible deal, making initial enquiries to understand whether a transfer could be feasible.
Barcelona could consider selling Koundé as part of efforts to generate significant funds through player departures. However, any potential move would depend on the asking price, the defender’s own position and whether Chelsea decide to pursue their interest further.
Koundé’s versatility, having featured at both centre-back and right-back, could make him an attractive option for Chelsea as they consider their defensive plans.
For now, the situation remains at the exploratory stage, with no confirmed agreement between the clubs. Chelsea’s reported interest will be worth monitoring as the transfer picture develops.
