Chelsea have returned to training at Cobham as preparations begin for this weekend’s London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, following an important victory over Everton in the Premier League.
The Blues secured consecutive wins with their latest success at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday. The result was particularly encouraging for head coach Xabi Alonso, as Chelsea also recorded their first Premier League clean sheet in 23 matches.
The performance against Everton highlighted the defensive discipline, resilience and collective effort Alonso has been demanding from his players as he continues to shape the team according to his tactical philosophy.
After enjoying a short break following the victory, the Chelsea squad resumed work on Tuesday with a gym session before heading onto the training pitch for an outdoor session overseen by Alonso in wet conditions at Cobham.
Pedro Neto, who played a decisive role in the Everton victory, was among those involved in the session. Cole Palmer, Jordan Henderson and goalkeeper Mike Penders were also present as the squad stepped up preparations for the upcoming fixture.
With confidence growing after back-to-back victories and a long-awaited clean sheet, Chelsea will be eager to carry their momentum into the Tottenham clash.
However, facing their London rivals will present another important test of Alonso’s side, particularly as the manager looks to build consistency, strengthen the team's defensive organisation and maintain the winning feeling within the squad.
All eyes will now be on Cobham as Chelsea continue their preparations for what promises to be a highly anticipated London derby.
Chelsea fans, can the Blues make it three consecutive wins against Tottenham this weekend?
