Moises Caicedo has called on Chelsea to learn from their disappointing defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, insisting that the team must remain focused throughout the entire match to avoid costly mistakes.
Chelsea suffered a 2-0 loss to Spurs at Stamford Bridge, with a goalkeeping error from Mike Penders helping the visitors take the lead before Mathys Tel added a second to secure all three points for Tottenham.
Reflecting on the setback, Caicedo stressed the importance of maintaining concentration for the full 90 minutes, warning that even a brief lapse can have serious consequences at the highest level of football.
“We need to be focused during the whole game because if you switch off for one second, you get punished,” the Chelsea midfielder explained.
The Ecuadorian also highlighted the need for Chelsea to improve defensively and work towards keeping clean sheets, acknowledging that the defeat was difficult to accept.
“It was a tough one, but we need to keep going because there are more games in front of us and we want to do better,” he added.
Caicedo's message reflects the determination within the Chelsea squad to respond positively to the setback. With important fixtures ahead, the Blues will need to address their mistakes, improve their concentration and show greater consistency as they look to get back to winning ways.
For Chelsea, the priority now is to put the Tottenham defeat behind them, learn from the experience and deliver a stronger performance in their next match.
