Morgan Rogers has praised João Pedro for his outstanding contribution to Chelsea, highlighting the Brazilian forward’s work rate, defensive commitment and growing importance to the team.
While João Pedro’s goals have attracted plenty of attention, Rogers believes the striker offers much more than his finishing ability. His movement, relentless running and willingness to contribute defensively have made him an important asset to the side.
Speaking about his Chelsea teammate, Rogers emphasised how much the Brazilian contributes beyond the scoresheet, praising the effort he puts into helping the team both in possession and without the ball.
“He's a massive part of us, not just scoring goals, he works so hard. The relentless running in the channel and working defensively as well for the team. He’s on the top of his game right now and it's really good for Chelsea,” Rogers said.
The comments underline the value João Pedro brings to Chelsea's attacking system. His ability to occupy defenders, stretch opposition backlines and create space for teammates gives the Blues additional options in the final third.
His defensive work is equally important, particularly in a system that demands commitment from attackers when the team loses possession. By pressing opponents and tracking back when necessary, João Pedro helps Chelsea maintain their intensity and collective structure.
The Brazilian's current form has also strengthened his standing within the squad. His combination of goals, intelligent movement and team-first mentality makes him more than just a traditional centre-forward.
For Chelsea, having an attacker who can deliver in front of goal while consistently working for the collective cause is a major advantage as the club continues its campaign under head coach Xabi Alonso.
Rogers' praise also reflects the growing appreciation of João Pedro's all-round game among his teammates. With his confidence high and his performances attracting increasing attention, Chelsea will hope he can maintain this level throughout the season.
João Pedro is proving that his value to Chelsea goes far beyond scoring goals — his hard work, movement and commitment make him a key part of the team's ambitions.
