Chelsea academy midfielder Reggie Watson has been named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for September, rewarding an impressive run of performances for Cobham Next Gen. (Premier League)

The 16-year-old scored three goals in two PL2 appearances during September. His standout performance came in the 4–1 victory over Arsenal, where he scored twice — converting a penalty before adding a superb free-kick.

Watson continued his goalscoring form against Fulham, finding the net from distance as Chelsea fought back to secure a 3–1 victory.

His September recognition adds to an already significant start to the 2026/27 campaign. Watson has scored in each of Chelsea's opening four PL2 matches and also made his competitive senior debut in September, starting in the 6–3 Carabao Cup win over Leeds United. (Chelsea FC)

Watson was selected from an eight-player shortlist by the Premier League's Football Development Panel, becoming the second PL2 Player of the Month winner of the 2026/27 season after Brentford's Kaye Furo won the August award. (Premier League)

The latest award further highlights the progress of one of Chelsea's teenage academy talents as he continues to gain experience at both development and senior level.
