Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso has dismissed suggestions that young Brazilian forward Estêvão could leave the club during the January transfer window, insisting that the teenager remains part of his plans.
There have been growing concerns about Estêvão's limited playing time, with supporters eager to see more of the highly rated youngster given his enormous potential and ability to make a difference in attack.
However, Alonso has made it clear that there have been no discussions about a possible departure, reaffirming his confidence that the Brazilian will receive opportunities as the season progresses.
Speaking about Estêvão's situation, the Chelsea manager said:
"No, no, no. No discussions about that. I'm sure in the season, he will have his minutes. It's not about attitude. It's been about the context of games."
Alonso's comments suggest that Estêvão's lack of regular appearances has been influenced by match situations and tactical decisions rather than any concerns about his commitment or attitude.
With the season still ongoing, Chelsea will hope to manage the youngster's development carefully while giving him enough opportunities to showcase his talent.
For now, a January departure is not on the agenda, and Estêvão is expected to remain at Stamford Bridge as he continues his development under Alonso.
