Alejandro Garnacho Expresses Regret Following Speeding Conviction

Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho has expressed deep regret after pleading guilty to a speeding offence near Manchester United’s Carrington training ground.

The incident occurred on 26 August 2025, just days before the 21-year-old completed his high-profile transfer to Chelsea from Manchester United. Garnacho was caught driving his black Audi RS3 at 50mph in a 40mph zone on Carrington Lane.

Through his legal representatives, Garnacho entered a guilty plea at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court. He accepted the offence as an oversight and apologised, stating he is “embarrassed” by the situation.

Garnacho was fined £660, ordered to pay £120 in costs and a £264 victim surcharge, and received three penalty points on his licence.

A club spokesperson said: “Alejandro has taken full responsibility for this matter and is sorry for the error in judgement. He remains fully focused on his football and contributing to the team at Chelsea.”

Garnacho joined Chelsea in a £40 million deal in late August 2025 and has since settled into life at Stamford Bridge.
