Completely Unfair!' – Enzo Fernandez's Agent Javier Pastore Lashes Out at Chelsea After Midfielder Dropped Over Real Madrid Comments

Enzo Fernandez's representative, Javier Pastore, has strongly criticised Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior and the club's hierarchy, describing the decision to drop the Argentine midfielder as "**completely unfair**" following comments the player made about his admiration for Madrid during the international break.

Fernandez, Chelsea's vice-captain and a key figure in the squad, was ruled out of the club's next two matches — the FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale and the Premier League clash with Manchester City — after public remarks that manager Rosenior claimed "crossed a line" in terms of club culture.

During interviews while on duty with Argentina, the 25-year-old World Cup winner expressed a personal preference for living in Madrid, noting that the Spanish capital reminds him of Buenos Aires. He highlighted his comfort with the Spanish language and admiration for Real Madrid players like Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić, without explicitly stating any desire to leave Chelsea or criticising the club.

Speaking exclusively to The Athletic, agent Javier Pastore hit back at the sanction:

> "The punishment is completely unfair — banning the player for two matches, which moreover are also absolutely crucial for Chelsea because qualification for the Champions League is at stake and he is one of the team's most important players. I think it's far too harsh given Chelsea's current situation, and there's no real reason or justification for why he has been banned."

Pastore emphasised that Fernandez "didn't understand the situation" when informed of the decision but accepted it professionally. He added:

> "Enzo didn't mention any club or say he wants to leave Chelsea, far from it — he only mentions Madrid, the city... At no point does he say he wants to leave Chelsea or London."

Rosenior had earlier defended the move, stating he spoke with Fernandez and that the club needed to protect its culture and standards.

> "It's disappointing for Enzo to speak that way... A line was crossed in terms of our culture and what we want to build. We had to make a sanction."

The manager confirmed the decision was taken jointly with the club hierarchy, describing it as necessary for a "winning football club with traditions of success."

Pastore also revealed that contract talks have taken place regarding Fernandez's deal, which runs until 2032, but no agreement has been reached yet. He indicated that further discussions are expected, particularly after the 2026 World Cup, and that the player remains fully committed in the meantime.

The controversy comes at a sensitive time for Chelsea, who are fighting for a top-four finish in the Premier League amid a challenging season under Rosenior. Fernandez has been a consistent performer in midfield, contributing both defensively and in attack since his high-profile arrival from Benfica.

Chelsea fans and pundits have been divided on the issue, with some supporting the club's firm stance on squad discipline and others questioning the severity of the punishment for what appeared to be relatively innocuous personal comments.

Neither Chelsea FC nor Liam Rosenior have issued further statements in response to Pastore's remarks at the time of this release.

Chelsea confirmed that midfielder Enzo Fernández will not be available for selection for the club’s next two fixtures following a disciplinary decision

The Argentina international, who serves as vice-captain, has been ruled out of Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale (home) and Sunday 12 April’s Premier League home match against Manchester City.

Head Coach Liam Rosenior addressed the matter directly this afternoon after speaking with the player:

“I spoke with Enzo about an hour ago. As a football club, with me as part of the decision, he won’t be available for tomorrow’s game or Manchester City next Sunday. It’s disappointing for Enzo to speak that way. I’ve got no bad words to say about him but a line was crossed in terms of our culture and what we want to build here.”

Rosenior emphasised that the sanction is internal and finite, adding that the door remains open for Fernández’s return once the two-match period is served. The club stressed that the decision was made collectively to protect the standards and values Chelsea is building under the current leadership.

Fernández, 25, joined Chelsea in 2023 for a then-club-record fee and has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most technically gifted midfielders. During the recent international break, comments he made in a podcast interview regarding his personal future and preferred city of residence were deemed inconsistent with the club’s expectations of its players and leaders.

Chelsea FC remains fully focused on the challenges ahead. With important matches in both domestic cup and league competition this week, the squad will continue to work together to deliver the performances and results that our fans deserve.

Head Coach Liam Rosenior Addresses Squad Discipline and Pre-Match Preparation Ahead of FA Cup Quarter-Final

Head Coach Liam Rosenior has sanctioned midfielder Enzo Fernández for the club’s next two fixtures following comments made by the player during the international break.

In a frank and detailed press conference at Cobham this afternoon, Rosenior outlined the club’s decision to exclude Fernández from the squad for tomorrow’s FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale and Sunday’s Premier League match against Manchester City. The Head Coach described the comments – in which Fernández expressed a desire to live in Madrid amid reported interest from Real Madrid – as “disappointing” and a clear breach of the high standards and culture the club is building.

Rosenior stated: “We spoke at length this morning. As a football club, with me as part of the decision, he won’t be available for tomorrow’s game or Manchester City next Sunday. A line was crossed. We have to protect the culture we are trying to create here.” He added that “the door is not closed” on the player’s future at the club, emphasising that the sanction is designed to reinforce collective responsibility rather than permanently exclude.

The 41-year-old Head Coach, who joined Chelsea on a six-and-a-half-year contract on 6 January 2026 after guiding RC Strasbourg to European qualification, stressed that squad harmony and commitment to the club project remain non-negotiable.

Rosenior also provided updates on team selection, injury news and his tactical approach for the Port Vale fixture, underlining his belief that the squad is progressing despite a challenging transitional period since his arrival. Full details of his comments are available in the official press conference transcript below.

Chelsea Football Club continues to support the values of professionalism, loyalty and unity that define the club.

**Chelsea FC Media Room, Cobham Training Centre**

**Friday, 3 April 2026 – 13:30 BST**

**Head Coach: Liam Rosenior**

**Ahead of: FA Cup Quarter-Final vs Port Vale (H)**

**Liam Rosenior:** Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for coming. Before we get into the questions, I just want to say how proud I am of this group and the progress we’ve made in the short time I’ve been here. Three months in, it’s been intense – new ideas, new expectations – but the players have bought into what we’re trying to do. Tomorrow is a huge opportunity for us in the FA Cup. Port Vale are a proper football club with history, and we will respect them fully. But our focus is on getting to the semi-finals.

**Q (Sky Sports):** Liam, the big story today is Enzo Fernández. Can you explain why he’s been dropped for the next two games?

**Rosenior:** Yes, I can. I spoke with Enzo about an hour ago. As a football club – and I’m part of that decision – he won’t be available for tomorrow’s game against Port Vale or for Manchester City on Sunday. Look, it’s disappointing. He went on a podcast during the international break and spoke about wanting to live in Madrid. We all know there’s speculation linking him with Real Madrid. But for me, that crosses a line.

We are building something special here at Chelsea. This isn’t just about tactics or results – it’s about culture. Every player who walks through these doors represents the badge, the fans, and the project. When you publicly talk about wanting to be somewhere else, it affects the group. It sends the wrong message. We had to act to protect that culture. The door is not closed on Enzo – far from it – but actions have consequences. He knows that. He’s a talented boy, and I still believe he can be part of our future, but right now we have to be strong.

**Q (BBC Sport):** Has this been discussed internally with the board and the wider squad? How have the players reacted?

**Rosenior:** Absolutely. The senior players, the staff, everyone is aligned. This isn’t a decision taken lightly. I’ve spoken to the dressing room this morning. The message was clear: we are one club. No one is bigger than the badge. The reaction from the players has been positive – they understand what we’re trying to build.

**Q (The Athletic):** On the pitch, how do you replace Enzo’s creativity in midfield tomorrow?

**Rosenior:** We’ve got options. We’ve worked on different shapes in training this week. You’ll see tomorrow that we’re flexible. Whether it’s a 3-4-2-1 or a slight adjustment to 4-2-3-1, the principles stay the same: high press, quick transitions, and total commitment. Players like Moisés Caicedo, Roméo Lavia, and the young lads coming through have stepped up brilliantly. This is an opportunity for someone else to shine.

**Q (Chelsea FC official site):** Liam, you’ve been in charge for three months now. What’s your assessment of where the team is?

**Rosenior:** We’re building. When I walked in after the Charlton win in the FA Cup, the first thing I said was that we would play with intensity, bravery on the ball, and a desire to dominate games. The results have been mixed – we’ve had some great performances and some tough nights – but the underlying numbers are improving: better expected goals, more control in big moments.

The fans have been incredible. Stamford Bridge is rocking again. I feel the trust growing. We’re not where we want to be yet, but the direction is clear. Long-term project, short-term focus: win tomorrow.

**Q (Guardian):** Any injury updates ahead of the game?

**Rosenior:** We’ve had a couple of knocks from the international break, but nothing major. Reece James is available and raring to go. Nicolas Jackson is fit. Christopher Nkunku has trained fully and is in contention. We’ll make late calls, but overall the squad is in good shape.

**Q (TalkSport):** There’s been some noise from outside the club about your authority and whether the players are fully behind you. How do you respond to that?

**Rosenior:** I don’t listen to noise. I listen to the players in the dressing room every day. I look them in the eye. They know exactly what I stand for – honesty, hard work, respect. The senior lads have been brilliant. John Obi Mikel and others have their opinions from the outside; I respect that. But inside these walls, we’re united. That’s what matters.

**Q (BBC):** Final question – what would winning the FA Cup mean to you personally and to the club?

**Rosenior:** Everything. This club has history in this competition. For me, as an Englishman who grew up watching Chelsea lift trophies, it would mean the world. But more importantly, it would be validation for the players who have worked so hard through a difficult period. It would give the fans something to celebrate. Tomorrow is step one.

**Rosenior:** Right, that’s me. Thank you all. See you after the game – hopefully celebrating a win. Up the Blues.

Chelsea’s Incoming Wonderkid Dastan Satpaev Poised to Become a Star at Stamford Bridge

As Chelsea Football Club continues its long-term strategy of investing in elite young talent, 17-year-old Kazakh striker Dastan Satpaev is widely tipped to develop into a standout performer for the Blues upon his arrival in August 2026.

Satpaev, born on 12 August 2008 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, will officially join Chelsa on his 18th birthday after the club secured his signature from Kairat Almaty in February 2025. The deal, worth a reported €4 million including add-ons, represents a record transfer fee for a player from the Kazakh Premier League and underscores Chelsea’s commitment to identifying and nurturing global prospects at the earliest opportunity.

Currently shining for Kairat Almaty, Satpaev has already made a significant impact in senior football despite his tender age. The versatile forward — capable of playing as a centre-forward, left winger, or second striker — boasts impressive physical attributes for his 1.75m frame: he is quick, strong, technically gifted with both feet, and possesses a clinical finishing instinct. Observers have frequently drawn comparisons to former Manchester City legend Sergio Agüero, dubbing him “Baby Agüero” due to his low centre of gravity, explosive movement, and natural goalscoring ability.

In his breakthrough senior season with Kairat, Satpaev has delivered eye-catching performances, including goals and assists in domestic league action and even making history in the UEFA Champions League. He has broken multiple records for Kazakhstan, becoming the youngest-ever debutant and youngest goalscorer for the senior national team. His maturity on and off the pitch has drawn praise, with the teenager demonstrating a professional attitude and clear ambition to succeed at the highest level.

Chelsea scouts and recruitment specialists identified Satpaev’s potential early, beating competition from several European clubs, including interest from England, Spain, and Italy. The club’s track record of successfully integrating young talents — through pathways involving loans to sister club Strasbourg, the academy, or direct first-team exposure — gives confidence that Satpaev will be given the environment needed to thrive.

A source close to the club described Satpaev as “exactly the type of profile Chelsea wants to build around: technically excellent, physically robust, two-footed, and with a winner’s mentality.” Teammates at Kairat have echoed this sentiment, with one senior player recently stating: “He’s only 17 years old, but he’s fast, strong, and finishes very well with both feet. He has tremendous potential, which is why Chelsea signed him.”

Head coach Liam Rosenior and the Chelsea technical staff are already monitoring Satpaev’s progress closely. While the youngster will initially link up with the development squad, there is genuine excitement within the club that he possesses the raw attributes and football intelligence to challenge for first-team minutes sooner rather than later, provided he continues his upward trajectory.

Satpaev himself has spoken maturely about the move, acknowledging the challenge ahead while expressing confidence in Chelsea’s youth development model: “Chelsea knows how to work with young players. The club really invests in them. Even if it comes to a loan, they can find a good club for me. Of course, I’ll try to establish myself in the first team at Chelsea.”

With the 2026/27 season on the horizon, Satpaev’s impending arrival adds another exciting layer to Chelsea’s attacking options. As the club balances a blend of established stars and high-potential youth, many within Stamford Bridge believe the Kazakh prodigy has all the tools to become a genuine asset and fan favourite in west London for years to come.

Chelsea fans have already begun embracing the prospect of their new signing, with highlight reels of his goals and skills circulating widely on social media.

The club looks forward to welcoming Dastan Satpaev to Cobham in the summer and supporting his seamless integration into English football.

Chelsea Defender Levi Colwill Returns to Full Training as Return Timeline Clarified

Chelsea has received a significant boost with defender Levi Colwill returning to full first-team training, though head coach Liam Rosenior has cautioned that the England international will require a few more weeks before he is ready to feature in competitive matches.

Colwill, 23, has been sidelined for the entire 2025/26 season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his left knee during pre-season training in early August 2025. The academy graduate underwent successful surgery shortly afterwards and has since followed a meticulous rehabilitation programme at Cobham.

In recent weeks, Colwill had been progressing through modified and partial training sessions with the first-team squad, participating in some on-pitch work and light sessions alongside his teammates. Today, Rosenior confirmed that the versatile centre-back has now stepped up to full team training, marking a major milestone in his recovery.

Speaking to the media, Rosenior said: “It’s really good to have Levi back in full training but it’s going to take a few more weeks. He needs to tick those boxes but we’ve got a pretty fresh group.”

The manager emphasised a cautious, step-by-step approach to Colwill’s reintegration, prioritising the player’s long-term fitness and avoiding any unnecessary risks. “It’s great to have Levi back in full training, but it’s going to take him a few more weeks to tick those boxes before he’s ready [to feature],” Rosenior added.

Chelsea are understood to be planning a gradual return for Colwill, with reports suggesting he could initially feature for the club’s Under-21 side in a Premier League 2 fixture against Fulham on April 10 as part of his build-up. A potential first-team return is targeted for the final weeks of the Premier League season, possibly after the upcoming international break, provided he continues to progress without setbacks.

Colwill’s absence has been keenly felt at the back, where Chelsea have navigated a challenging campaign amid injuries and tactical transitions under both former manager Enzo Maresca and current boss Liam Rosenior. The left-footed defender, capable of playing across the centre-back positions or even at left-back, is highly regarded for his composure on the ball, aerial ability, and leadership qualities. Many within the club view him as a future cornerstone of the defence.

A product of Chelsea’s academy, Colwill has made over 50 first-team appearances since breaking through and has represented England at senior and youth levels. His return would provide Rosenior with additional defensive options as the Blues fight for a strong finish to the 2025/26 season.

Club sources have expressed optimism about Colwill’s recovery trajectory, noting that he has been hitting key rehabilitation benchmarks. However, both the medical team and coaching staff remain focused on ensuring he is 100% ready before exposing him to the physical demands of Premier League and cup football.

Chelsea fans have welcomed the positive update on social media, with many expressing hope that the young defender can make a meaningful contribution before the campaign concludes and build momentum heading into pre-season.

The club will continue to monitor Colwill’s progress closely in the coming days and weeks, with further updates expected as he edges closer to a competitive return.

Chelsea have not set an exact date for his first-team comeback, stressing that his full recovery remains the priority.

Roman Abramovich Moves to Establish Global Charity Foundation to Unlock Frozen Chelsea Sale Proceeds for Victims of Conflict Worldwide

Roman Abramovich today confirmed plans to register a new independent charitable foundation aimed at directing the net proceeds from the 2022 sale of Chelsea Football Club to support victims of conflict and war around the world.

The initiative, to be known as the **Foundation for Victims of Conflict**, represents a significant step forward in fulfilling Mr Abramovich’s long-standing commitment to donate the proceeds of the club’s sale to charitable causes. The foundation will be overseen by Mike Penrose, a highly respected former UNICEF executive with extensive experience in global humanitarian efforts. An application for registration will be submitted to the UK Charity Commission this week.

The £2.35 billion currently held in a frozen UK bank account (via Fordstam Ltd) has remained inaccessible for nearly four years due to ongoing sanctions and disagreements over its use. While Mr Abramovich originally pledged the funds to support victims of the war in Ukraine, the new foundation will adopt a broader mandate to assist victims of conflict globally, reflecting the universal nature of suffering caused by war.

“This foundation is about delivering real help to those who need it most, wherever they are,” said Mike Penrose. “I can confirm that I am preparing a submission to the Charity Commission to register a new foundation dedicated to supporting victims of conflict worldwide. We believe this approach honours the spirit of the original pledge while maximising the positive impact of these funds.”

### Background and Commitment

In March 2022, as he prepared to sell Chelsea FC amid geopolitical circumstances, Roman Abramovich publicly committed to donating all net proceeds from the sale to a charitable foundation focused on victims of the war in Ukraine. The club was sold to a consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital for approximately £2.5 billion (with £2.35 billion received), and the funds have since been frozen under UK sanctions regulations.

Despite repeated attempts to resolve the situation constructively, bureaucratic and political obstacles have prevented the release of the money. The establishment of the Foundation for Victims of Conflict is intended to break this impasse by creating a transparent, independently governed entity capable of receiving and distributing the funds in accordance with charitable law.

Mr Abramovich has consistently maintained that the funds belong to him and should be deployed according to his philanthropic vision, in line with the original pledge made at the time of the sale. Legal representatives have indicated that any attempt by the UK government to redirect or seize the funds without agreement would be vigorously contested.

### Vision for the Foundation

The Foundation for Victims of Conflict will prioritise:

- Emergency humanitarian aid for civilians affected by armed conflicts

- Long-term reconstruction and rehabilitation programmes

- Support for children, families, and communities impacted by war

- Global initiatives addressing the root causes and consequences of conflict

Governance will follow best practices for transparency, with independent trustees, rigorous auditing, and public reporting on fund allocation. The foundation aims to operate without geographical restrictions, ensuring aid reaches victims “anywhere” conflict causes suffering.

### Statement from Roman Abramovich’s Representatives

“Mr Abramovich remains fully committed to his pledge made in 2022. The creation of this foundation is a sincere attempt to move beyond political deadlock and ensure the money finally reaches those in desperate need. We urge all parties, including the UK government, to engage constructively with this process rather than pursuing confrontational legal routes that only delay help to victims.”

The registration process with the Charity Commission is expected to take several weeks. Once approved and subject to sanctions licensing, the foundation will seek the immediate release of the frozen funds.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe deserves a chance against Port Vale

However, this commitment to youth has been a double-edged sword. While the Blues have marched into the FA Cup quarter-finals, their lack of know-how was brutally exposed during a recent Champions League exit, highlighting the need for an experienced centre-back in particular.

But, a clash with Port Vale should allow Rosenior to trial a few things.

In Chelsea training images ahead of Port Vale, Sharman-Lowe was spotted alongside Robert Sanchez, sparking speculation that he could make his first appearance.

After an impressive first half of the campaign on loan at Bolton Wanderers, where he recorded six clean sheets in 22 appearances, the 23-year-old goalkeeper was recalled to Stamford Bridge in January.

This move was prompted by a long-term injury to Filip Jorgensen, thrusting Sharman-Lowe into the senior matchday squad as a backup to Robert Sanchez.

Since his return, he has balanced bench duties for Liam Rosenior’s senior side with dominant performances for the Under-21s, most notably recording an assist during a 4-1 win over Birmingham City.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe presents a third way out of Chelsea’s current goalkeeping crisis. Robert Sanchez’s confidence has visibly cratered following a series of errors, while Filip Jorgensen is sidelined for several weeks following a minor operation on a recurring groin injury.

With the first-team options either mentally fragile or physically unavailable, Sharman-Lowe offers the clean slate Liam Rosenior requires.

Having returned from a productive loan at Bolton with significant match rhythm, he represents a homegrown solution.

In a season where established stars are faltering, Sharman-Lowe’s hunger and consistency for the Under-21s makes him a good option to trial against Port Vale.

João Félix Insists He Has No Regrets Over Chelsea Exit After Being Restored to Natural Position at Al-Nassr

Portuguese forward João Félix has declared he has no regrets about leaving Chelsea for Al-Nassr, stating firmly “I did what I had to do!” as he continues to thrive in his preferred role at the Saudi Pro League club.

The 26-year-old joined Al-Nassr on a permanent two-year deal from Chelsea in July 2025 for an initial fee of €30 million, which could rise to €50 million with performance-related add-ons. After two separate spells at Stamford Bridge — including a permanent signing in 2024 — Félix struggled for consistent minutes and often found himself deployed out of position as a winger or isolated striker.

Speaking in a recent interview, Félix expressed satisfaction with his decision and the new chapter in his career alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mané, and under manager Jorge Jesus.

“I really enjoyed my time at Chelsea — it’s a massive club with incredible fans and facilities,” Félix said. “But I had to make the decision that felt right for me and my career. I did what I had to do! Now I’m playing regularly, getting plenty of minutes, and most importantly, I’m back in my natural position — the central attacking role where I first stood out at Benfica.

“The system here suits me very well. I have complete confidence in myself again, and I’m enjoying my football. We’re fighting at the top of the league with eight games left, and the atmosphere is fantastic.”

Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, Félix has rediscovered the form that once made him one of Europe’s most exciting young talents. His performances have drawn praise for his creativity, vision, and goal threat in a more liberated attacking midfield position.

Félix also reflected on the challenges of his time in the Premier League: “At Chelsea and even at Atlético Madrid, things didn’t always go as planned. Sometimes you need a change of environment to feel free again. Al-Nassr has given me that platform, and I’m very grateful.”

The move has allowed Félix to reunite with Portugal captain Ronaldo, adding another layer of excitement to his time in the Middle East.

Chelsea FC wished Félix well upon his departure last summer, acknowledging his efforts during his spells at the club.

Félix remains a key player for the Portugal national team and is expected to feature prominently in upcoming international fixtures.

Adam Gemili Retires from Athletics and Joins Chelsea FC Academy as Speed Coach

British sprinting star Adam Gemili has announced his retirement from professional athletics after a distinguished 14-year career and will return to Chelsea Football Club as a part-time speed coach working with the club's academy players.

Gemili, 32, bows out as one of Britain's finest sprinters. He is one of only three British men to have broken the 10-second barrier in the 100m (9.97s) and the 20-second barrier in the 200m (19.97s). His achievements include European 200m gold in 2014, multiple European relay titles, and a standout moment as part of the Great Britain 4x100m relay team that won gold at the 2017 World Championships in London — famously in Usain Bolt's final individual race.

A three-time Olympian (London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020), Gemili competed at the highest level against the world's best, overcoming injuries to leave a lasting legacy in British sprinting. He sits fourth on the UK all-time list for the 200m and was the first British athlete to achieve sub-10 and sub-20 times in the respective sprints.

Gemili's new chapter brings him full circle. He spent seven years in Chelsea's renowned youth academy as a promising young footballer before choosing athletics as a teenager. Now, he returns to Cobham to focus on speed development, acceleration, and sprint mechanics with Chelsea's young talents, particularly in the under-13 and under-14 age groups. He has already been working casually with the academy since late last year.

"I'm incredibly grateful for everything athletics has given me over the past 15 years," Gemili said. "From competing at home in London 2012 to winning world gold in front of a home crowd in 2017, it's been an amazing journey filled with highs, challenges, and unforgettable memories. I'm content with my career and excited to start this next phase.

"Returning to Chelsea feels like coming home. I loved my time in the academy as a kid, and now I get to help the next generation of footballers improve their speed and athleticism. It's a full-circle moment, and I'm looking forward to passing on the knowledge I've gained."

Chelsea FC welcomed the appointment, noting Gemili's unique blend of elite sprinting experience and deep familiarity with the club's youth system.

A Chelsea spokesperson said: "Adam is a fantastic addition to our academy staff. His expertise in speed and explosive power will be invaluable for our young players' development. We're thrilled to have him back at the club where his sporting journey began."

Gemili has also indicated plans to launch his own coaching business focused on speed development for young athletes across multiple sports, while potentially exploring punditry opportunities in athletics coverage.

Watch: Jose Mourinho Expresses Hope for Chelsea’s Return to Glory Days and Reveals Emotional Attachment to Stamford Bridge

Jose Mourinho, the legendary former Chelsea manager, has spoken passionately about his enduring love for the club and his sincere hope that Chelsea can rediscover their best form following the turbulent period since Roman Abramovich’s departure.

In a candid interview, Mourinho reflected on the significant changes at Stamford Bridge after the sale of the club in 2022, acknowledging the challenges the Blues have faced in maintaining the consistent success that defined the Abramovich era.

“I have always hoped and believed that Chelsea can get back to their best form once again,” Mourinho said. “The club achieved incredible things under Roman Abramovich – multiple Premier League titles, Champions League glory, and a dynasty of success. That DNA is still there in the club and the fans. I truly hope the new ownership can rebuild that winning culture and bring the glory days back to Stamford Bridge.”

Mourinho, who enjoyed two hugely successful spells at Chelsea (2004-2007 and 2013-2015), winning three Premier League titles, two League Cups, one FA Cup, and one Community Shield, also revealed his deep personal connection to the famous stadium.

“Even after all these years, I have always wanted to stay close to Stamford Bridge,” he added with a smile. “There is something magical about that place. I wanted to be near so I could listen to the sound of success – the roar of the crowd when the team is winning, the chants echoing through the stands, the electric atmosphere on European nights. That sound… it stays with you forever.”

The Portuguese coach, affectionately known as “The Special One,” emphasized that his affection for Chelsea and its supporters remains strong despite moving on to other clubs in his illustrious career.

“Chelsea will always have a special place in my heart,” Mourinho concluded. “The fans, the club, the history – it’s part of who I am as a manager. I wish them nothing but the best as they strive to return to the pinnacle of English and European football.”

Mourinho’s comments come at a time when Chelsea are navigating a new era under their current ownership, with fans eagerly anticipating a return to sustained competitiveness both domestically and on the continent.

Alejandro Garnacho Expresses Regret Following Speeding Conviction

Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho has expressed deep regret after pleading guilty to a speeding offence near Manchester United’s Carrington training ground.

The incident occurred on 26 August 2025, just days before the 21-year-old completed his high-profile transfer to Chelsea from Manchester United. Garnacho was caught driving his black Audi RS3 at 50mph in a 40mph zone on Carrington Lane.

Through his legal representatives, Garnacho entered a guilty plea at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court. He accepted the offence as an oversight and apologised, stating he is “embarrassed” by the situation.

Garnacho was fined £660, ordered to pay £120 in costs and a £264 victim surcharge, and received three penalty points on his licence.

A club spokesperson said: “Alejandro has taken full responsibility for this matter and is sorry for the error in judgement. He remains fully focused on his football and contributing to the team at Chelsea.”

Garnacho joined Chelsea in a £40 million deal in late August 2025 and has since settled into life at Stamford Bridge.

Ecuador manager talks up Chelsea talent Kendry Paez

Still only 18, Paez has now played his football for three different clubs on two continents. He is due to return to Chelsea in the summer and reunite with Rosenior, before Chelsea make a decision on him.

But for now, Paez is with Ecuador, who face Morocco and the Netherlands during the break. Quoted by ESPN, Ecuador boss Sebastian Beccacece heaped praise on Paez: “He’s a kid with enormous talent.

“He generated a lot of excitement, and that has created pressure. Even though he wasn’t playing, we kept calling him, we believe in his talent. Now at River, he seems to be regaining his joy and confidence.”

What happens next for Kendry Paez ahead of summer window?

Paez will return to Chelsea this summer having already gone out on loan three times. In Ecuador, he is rated as the future of his nation’s side and yet, he has failed to prove why Chelsea paid £17m for him.

There is little to no chance that Paez is integrated into Rosenior’s side. Given his age, and competition in his position within the current Chelsea squad, Paez is more than likely to be sent on loan once again.

But it is time for Paez to show what he can do, closer to home. Perhaps, Chelsea find the youngster a loan in the Championship next season, to get him suited to English football and ready to play for Chelsea.

Chelsea supporters are beginning to lose patience with the current situation of the club, including the status of manager Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea supporters are beginning to lose patience with the current situation of the club, including the status of manager Liam Rosenior.

A nightmare couple of weeks at Stamford Bridge has seen the Blues exit the Champions League, as well as fall out of the top five in the Premier League.

There is a scenario where Chelsea could finish sixth and qualify for the Champions League, however fans will not believe this is the target they should be going for as a result of their current squad and spending.

It had originally been reported that Rosenior was very safe in his role as Chelsea manager, even at the end of the season.

However, sources have told Flashscore that Rosenior’s position will be on the line if results do not turn around from their recent run.

It has been a well-known target for the club to qualify for the Champions League, and financially it is something that they cannot afford to be without.

Todd Boehly and co have built their project off the back of mass spending during the summer transfer window, although staying in line with UEFA’s guidelines is a necessity following their sanction last year.

Something that has become clear though is that more investment is needed. Chelsea need a new centre-back, even with the pending return of Levi Colwill.

Blues supporters voted for Cesc Fabregas ahead of Filipe Luis, and you can have your say by signing up here.

The former Chelsea midfielder is enjoying a brilliant campaign in charge of Como, threatening to deliver Champions League football to the recently-promoted side.

Fabregas does not have much experience as a manager, but based on the hiring of Enzo Maresca and Rosenior, this does not seem to matter to the decision makers at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea women gave their best in their 3:1 defeat to Arsenal in the Women Uefa Champions League Quarterfinals showdown yesterday.

Lauren James scores the only goal for Chelsea fc in the game that Chelsea women later lost and look forward to reverse the 2 goals deficit in the Second Leg tie at Stamford Bridge

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Rob Green has revealed that he and his team-mates received no bonuses for winning the Europa League in 2019.

The Blues thumped bitter rivals Arsenal 4-1 in the final in Baku, courtesy of goals from Olivier Giroud, Pedro and an Eden Hazard brace.

Green didn't feature during that winning run but was a member of the squad as their third-choice goalkeeper.

And reflecting on that triumph, he disclosed that the Chelsea squad surprisingly didn't receive a single penny as a reward for their achievement.

'At Chelsea when we won the Europa League, I went in to see the secretary [David Barnard],' he told Fozcast - The Ben Foster Podcast. 'I went "Barney, there's no bonus schedule for the Europa League? You don't get a bonus?"'

'And he went [shrugs shoulders] "Well that's not the European Cup. It's the second tier isn't it."'

Astounded by his answer, Ben Foster asked Green to elaborate why that was the case to which he replied: 'We're not interested in it.'

That was Green's sole season at Stamford Bridge before retiring at the end of that campaign.

He didn't play a minute under then manager Maurizio Sarri with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero ahead of him in the goalkeeper pecking order.

Rosenior’s position as Chelsea head coach is understood to be secure even if the club fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League, Chelsea choose long-term stability

Chelsea have reportedly reached a firm decision regarding the future of head coach Liam Rosenior amid a concerning slump in form. Despite suffering four consecutive defeats and conceding 12 goals in that span, the 41-year-old retains the full backing of the Stamford Bridge hierarchy.

Rosenior’s position as Chelsea head coach is understood to be secure even if the club fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

According to reports from The Telegraph, The Blues' hierarchy do not plan to formally review Rosenior’s performance before summer 2027 and have no intention of making a change at the end of this season.

The only scenario in which that stance could change would be if Chelsea were to implode over the final weeks of the campaign, but there is currently no expectation of that happening within the club.

While the ultimate aim remains a top-four or top-five finish, the leadership acknowledge that Rosenior only took over in January and cannot be held solely responsible for the season's outcome.

Despite the overall vote of confidence, there is an internal acknowledgement that mistakes have been made during this difficult run.

One of Rosenior’s errors has been to create an unnecessary issue over his goalkeepers by dropping Robert Sanchez for the Champions League last-16 first-leg defeat to Paris Saint-Germain before having to reinstate him after Filip Jorgensen made a costly error and then suffered an injury.

That decision caused instability in a key position and has appeared to impact Sanchez, who was at fault for at least one of the goals in the recent 3-0 defeat against Everton.

However, Chelsea believe the manager is open to feedback and constructive criticism, and they are confident that he can quickly learn from these tactical mishaps as he gains experience at the elite level.

The club's vision for Rosenior is far-reaching, evidenced by the long-term contract he signed until 2032 upon moving from sister club Strasbourg.

Internal figures at Chelsea reportedly believe the manager can only start to be fairly judged over a period of 65 to 70 games, rather than the 17 matches he has overseen since replacing Enzo Maresca.

Statistically, the club point toward slight progress despite the recent optics, with the Blues winning 10 and losing seven of the 19 games they have played under the new manager. The board largely attributes the "stop-start" nature of the campaign to the mid-season coaching change which was forced upon them when Maresca effectively quit his post.

As the club look toward the future, this coming summer is viewed as critical in terms of recruitment. Chelsea are desperate to improve the mental resilience of the squad and provide Rosenior with a better balance of options across the pitch.

Key targets include at least one new central defender, a midfielder, and a forward to strengthen the team's spine.

There are also decisions to be made regarding the No. 1 spot, with goalkeeper Mike Penders likely to return from his season-long loan at Strasbourg to compete for a starting role.

Ex-Chelsea star slams American owners and issues Rosenior warning

Former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has sharply criticised the club's American owners for treating the team purely as a business. Amidst defensive struggles and four consecutive defeats, Petit warns that new manager Liam Rosenior may not see out the rest of the season, demanding an immediate change to salvage their fading Champions League qualification hopes.

The mood at Stamford Bridge is darkening following a dismal run of four consecutive defeats. Since taking charge in January following the dismissal of Enzo Maresca, Rosenior has overseen 19 matches, but his honeymoon period is well and truly over. Recent heavy losses include a 5-2 away defeat and a 3-0 home loss to Paris Saint-Germain, which saw them crash out of the Champions League in the round of 16. Following the weekend's 3-0 Premier League defeat at the hands of Everton, they sit sixth in the table on 48 points. They are now six points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa, severely complicating their European qualification chances.

According to Petit, the main issue plaguing the London side is their fragile backline, as he told BetGoat: "The main trouble at Chelsea is probably the defence. They have many, many issues, but the main problem is the defence. They concede too many goals. They have lost too many games at home and are probably one of the most average teams at home in the Premier League. I think they are 12th or 13th in the table at home."

Replacing Maresca has proven difficult, with the Frenchman adding: "I think the dimension of Strasbourg fit perfectly with Rosenior. Giving him the responsibility of such a huge club like Chelsea is a huge step, especially after taking charge after Enzo Maresca left the club."

The former midfielder directed fierce criticism toward the club hierarchy, suggesting they prioritise commercial interests over sporting triumphs. Delivering a scathing assessment, Petit declared: "I have no idea if he's going to stay at the end of the season, but to be honest with you, something has to change. I think the American owners must understand that we respect, and I have huge respect for those who put the money on the table, but in the end, don't put your nose in matters that you don't understand."

He insisted that treating football strictly as a business is alienating supporters. "Football is a serious matter for so many people, and you are trying to make business all the time, which means the Chelsea fans are tired of it. They don't want business at the club, they want success."

This lack of direction is seemingly taking a psychological toll on a mentally exhausted squad. Petit questioned the overarching strategy, asking: "Starting from the start of the season, what is the vision in terms of sport as well, with the manager? What is the vision? How are we going to play?"

This was brutally exposed against PSG. Petit was baffled by the managerial decisions, stating: "When you look at Rosenior against PSG and they played three at the back, come on. Have you seen against which team you're playing? Who are the strikers at Paris Saint-Germain? Those guys, they kill you. One against one, they kill you. And you play three at the back? Really?"
