Chelsea forward João Pedro has used the international break to step up his recovery from a knee injury, with the Brazilian reportedly seeing a specialist in London. The treatment is aimed at helping the 25-year-old return to action as quickly as possible.
João Pedro withdrew from Brazil duty earlier this month after suffering the issue and subsequently missed Chelsea’s 3–0 defeat to Brentford in their final match before the international break. Reports from Brazil had initially suggested that he could be sidelined for around four weeks.
However, the injury is not currently understood to be a long-term concern. The specialist treatment in London has given João Pedro an opportunity to continue his rehabilitation while Chelsea’s medical staff monitor his progress closely.
There is still no final decision on whether João Pedro will be available for Chelsea’s Premier League meeting with Bournemouth on October 10. His fitness will be assessed as he continues his recovery over the coming days.
The update will be particularly significant for Chelsea given João Pedro’s impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign. He was named the Premier League Player of the Month for August after making a major contribution to the Blues’ attacking play.
For now, Chelsea will wait for further medical assessments before determining whether their Brazilian forward can return against Bournemouth.
