Chelsea have officially completed the signing of Leo Black, with the versatile youngster joining the Blues after an impressive trial period at Cobham.
The 20-year-old has agreed a contract with Chelsea until 2028, adding further depth and versatility to the club’s academy setup.
Black is capable of operating both as a full-back and in midfield, giving Chelsea another flexible option across different positions. He previously developed through Tottenham’s academy before making the move to Stamford Bridge.
His performances for Chelsea Cobham Next Gen have quickly attracted attention. Black made his debut in the 5-4 victory over West Ham in August and subsequently scored against both Arsenal and Fulham in Premier League 2.
Against Arsenal, Black opened the scoring as Chelsea produced an impressive 4-1 victory, while he later found the net again in the 3-1 win over Fulham.
Those performances earned Black a nomination for the September 2026 Premier League 2 Player of the Month award. Chelsea have now confirmed that his trial has resulted in a permanent move.
Black has also represented England at Under-18 and Under-19 level, further adding to his international experience.
Chelsea will hope the young defender-midfielder can continue his strong development at Cobham as he begins his next chapter with the club.
Welcome to Chelsea, Leo Black! 🔵
