Chelsea’s Carabao Cup journey comes to an end at Anfield after Liverpool prevail in a penalty shootout to book their place in the quarter-finals.
The Blues fought for their place in the next round, but the decisive moments from the spot went Liverpool’s way, leaving Chelsea to face a disappointing exit from the competition.
Attention now turns to Xabi Alonso and his players as they look to respond to this setback and get back to winning ways.
A painful night for Chelsea fans. 💙
