Chelsea forward João Pedro has spoken positively about playing alongside Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers after being named the **Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026**.
The Brazilian striker beat Chelsea teammate Palmer and six other shortlisted players to claim his first-ever Premier League monthly award. His strong start to the campaign included four goal contributions across Chelsea’s opening two league matches.
João Pedro has quickly developed an exciting understanding with Palmer and summer signing Morgan Rogers, with the trio forming the attacking unit in Xabi Alonso’s new-look Chelsea side.
Speaking about the partnership, João Pedro described Palmer and Rogers as **“special players”**, explaining that their movement and ability to find him in dangerous positions make the combination particularly enjoyable.
He also highlighted the freedom Alonso gives the attacking players to move around the pitch. According to João Pedro, their constant movement can make it difficult for defenders to track individual players and creates more opportunities for the three forwards to combine.
The chemistry was evident from Chelsea’s opening league game against Fulham. João Pedro scored after just 33 seconds from a pass involving Palmer, while Rogers also found the net before Palmer eventually scored the winner.
The trio continued to combine effectively against Brighton, with João Pedro scoring and later providing the assist for Palmer’s decisive goal in Chelsea’s 4-3 victory.
João Pedro’s individual performances have now earned him the biggest monthly honour of his Chelsea career, while the growing relationship between him, Palmer and Rogers is giving Blues supporters plenty of reason for optimism.
With Alonso encouraging his attacking players to interchange positions and play with freedom, João Pedro believes the understanding between the three can continue to improve as the season progresses.
For Chelsea, the hope is simple: if the chemistry between João Pedro, Palmer and Rogers continues to grow, the new-look attack could become one of the defining features of Alonso’s first season at Stamford Bridge.
